 Plum Blossom in Busan, S. KoreaMaewha (ØÞü£) followers are in full bloom at a garden in Busan, South Korea on Feb. 3, 2017 as the weather warms up just one day before the Day of Spring (í¡õð).
Maewha is plum blossom, a kind of apricot tree and Japanese call it Ume.
Maewha is called as the herald of spring in South Korea. They typically flower in February and March around the country.
Loved by all Koreans the plum blossom is the sign of ending deadly cold winter and beginning of early spring.
The plum is native to many other East Asian countries including Japan, China, and Taiwan.
As a matter of fact, the plum is the national flower of Taiwan.
