 Diamond Pine Trees in UljinA vast number of Geumgang (Diamond) Pine Trees display their majestic beauty in Sogwangri, Seo-myon, Uljin Country, North Gyeongsang Province. The 1,610-ha area is the one where the largest group of this pine trees grow with most of them between 30 and 500 years old. The pine trees, which scientific name is ¡°Pinus Densiflora for Erecta Uyeki,¡±were traditionally used as timber for building royal palaces and large Buddhist temples. This Diamond Pine Tree, which is dubbed as ¡°Noble Pine Tree,¡±is locally called as Chunyangmok Ãá¾ç¸ñ(õðåÕÙÊ). Near the area is Cheongryangsan Park where Mt. Cheongryang and Cheongryansa Temple preserve their authentic beauty.
