 Students Protest Lee Kun-HeeChairman Lee Kun-Hee of Samsung Business Group is getting into his car, surrounded by a group of security men in the back gate of Korea University in Anam-dong, Seongbuk-dong, May 2, 2005. Some 100 student protesters blocked Lee from entering Inchon Memorial Hall where Lee was supposed receive honorary doctor¡¯s degree from the university for his contribution to the university. Lee got his PhD in a summery ceremony for donating 41.8 billion won (some .7 million) Samsung Building to the university. Students were shouting ¡°Stop cracking down on labor movement.¡± The South Korea¡¯s largest business group is widely criticized for ¡°not allowing¡± labor unions within its group.
