“Secrets of Wooden Puppets – Czech Marionettes” Goes On in Seoul through Summer
Korea-Czech Exhibition at Seoul Museum of History
“Secrets of Wooden Puppets – Czech Marionettes”

“Secrets of Wooden Puppets – Czech Marionettes,” kicked off on June 4 (Friday), 2021 at Seoul's Seoul Museum of History, will go on until August 29 (Sunday), 2021, Czech Embassy in Seoul announced recently in its news release.

In the release Czech Ambassador to South Korea Gustav Slamečka said that the Korea-Czech international exchange exhibition will take the local Korean audience to the world of Czech puppetry.

Chrudim Puppet Museum, home of Czech puppets, is one of the main partners for special exhibitions this year at the Seoul Museum of History. Held in cooperation with the Czech Centre and Czech Embassy in Seoul, this exhibition brings 200 years of history of Czech puppetry by displaying a total of 126 puppets and 24 stages to entertain visitors of all ages.

Ambassador Gustav Slamečka has been serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Korea since his arrival in Seoul in 2019.

The former businessman served as Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic between 2009 and 2010.

He earned his Master of Business Administration from zech Management Center Čelákovice in 1996. One year later he also received Master of Business Administration University of Pittsburgh, USA.

The Czech envoy said that he would like the Korean people to meet Kasparek, Spejbl and Hurvinek. He also wants to say hello to other important characters of the Czech UNESCO Heritage collection until the end of August.

Period: June 4 (Friday), 2021 - August 29 (Sunday), 2021
(Open every day, except Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Venue: Seoul Museum of History, 55 Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Admission Charge: Free

Reservation: Online reservation is not required but are recommended. Walk-in is also possible within the daily offline quota.
