Berliner Philharmoniker, Conducted by Andris Nelsons, Will Perform Mahler’s 1st Symphony
Andris Nelsons

The Berliner Philharmoniker to perform Mahler's 1st Symphony under the baton of Andris Nelsons and Stravinsky's Violin Concerto with soloist Baiba Skride.

The family Christmas concert, presented by Sarah Willis, will take place in a modified form in the Digital Concert Hall.

On Dec. 12 (Saturday), 2020, the Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Andris Nelsons, will perform Mahler’s 1st Symphony and Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto in D live in the Digital Concert Hall at 19:00. The soloist is Baiba Skride. On Sunday, 13 December, the live stream will be shown again at 12:00.

The family concert, originally planned for 12 and 13 December, will take place in a modified form on 13 December at 15.00 in the Digital Concert Hall.

Instead of the planned “Jingle Bass Rock” programme, Sarah Willis, horn player with the Berliner Philharmoniker, will present a “Best Of...!” program with excerpts from previous family concerts.

During her moderation from Studio 6 at the Philharmonie she will be assisted by some of her colleagues from the orchestra, and has lots of Christmas surprises in store!

This concert can be seen free of charge in the Digital Concert Hall following registration.

The concert in the Beethoven in close-up series with Frank Peter Zimmermann and Martin Helmchen has been postponed to the second half of the season. The exact date will be announced at a later date.

The Berlin Baroque Soloists concert planned for 13 December will now take place on April 17, 2021.

The two “Nordic Christmas” concerts of the Jazz At Berlin Philharmonic series, planned for 10 December, have unfortunately had to be completely cancelled.
