India, S. Korea Simplify, Speed Up Visa Procedures
Indian Ambassador to Seoul Skand R. Tayal with his wife in Seoul

In order to deepen bilateral business, tourism and people to people exchanges, an Agreement on "Simplifying Visa Procedures" was signed during the official visit to Seoul, of the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh from March 24-26, 2012.

Both countries have already implemented the new arrangement which allows for speedier grant of all categories of visas including long term, to nationals of India and Republic of Korea (ROK).

India and ROK are two vibrant democracies and fast growing major economies in the world, occupying the 3rd and 4th positions in Asia.

Bilateral relationship was elevated to the level of Strategic Partnership in January 2010, when a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was also operationalzed. Bilateral business and Cultural ties have received a huge boost as a result.

The two countries have established a new trade target of $ 40 billion by 2015, which is very achievable.
