In Jeong Lee, president of Korea-Nepal Friendship Association said that they were taking initiative to build the health center after they saw various health problems faced by people of Lukla as the place is remote and vulnerable. He informed that they would provide basic health services as a sub-health post does, free of cost.

Addressing a press meet, Lee added that they had allocated 300,000 US dollars to build a hospital with three rooms to provide service to around 45 households.

Lee further informed that raw materials required for construction had arrived at Calcutta port and would enter Nepal within this week. He said that construction would start by the first week of December and be completed within a month.

Lee went on to say that construction of the health center would help develop mutual relations between the two countries.
