Roh Meets with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince
Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan meets with S.Korean President Roh Moo-hyun ion June 14 in Seoul.

SEOUL(WAM) — South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun on June 14 received at the Presidential Palace here General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who arrived here earlier on an official visit to the Republic of Korea.

Sheikh Mohammed conveyed to the Korean President the felicitations and best wishes of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and their best wishes to the Korean leadership and people.

Welcoming Sheikh Mohammed, President Moo-Hyun expressed confidence that the relations between South Korea and the UAE would be further consolidated, thanks to the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to foster the bonds of cooperation linking them.

The President reiterated his country's eagerness to boost its relations with the UAE. He expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for the warm hospitality accorded to him during his latest visit to the UAE last May. "That visit reflected our mutual desire to build distinguished bilateral relations," he said.

The President asked Sheikh Mohammed to convey his felicitations and best wishes to President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and to the UAE people.

"The exchange of visits, particularly at the highest levels, are instrumental in boosting the pace of cooperation," he added.

Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE was determined to intensify the exchange of visits between the various sectors to foster closer cooperation and open up new venues for joint investment.

The two leaders reviewed the progress of bilateral relations and means of boosting them further in all domains.

In a written note on the Presidential Palace's VIP guests register Sheikh Mohammed expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Korean President and his best wishes for the Korean People.

On his part, Sheikh Mohammed thanked the Korean President for the warm hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation.

He praised the close ties linking the two countries. "Your visit to the UAE and our presence here have marked a new phase in the history of our friendship," he told the President.

Later, the Korean President hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of Sheikh Mohammed and the accompanying delegation. The banquet was also attended by Abdullah Mohair Al Kotbi, Director of the Crown Prince Office, Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Major General (Staff) pilot Mohammed bin Suwaidan Al Gamzi, Commander of the Air Forces, Brigadier (staff) Obaid Al Hairi Al Kotbi, head of the Armed Forces Logistics, Yususf Mana Al Oteibeh, Director of International Affairs Department at the Crown Prince Court, and Abdullah Mohammed Al Maena, UAE Ambassador to Korea. Attendees on the Korean side included Foreign Minister, senior government officials, and Joon-jae Liee, Ambassador to the UAE.

In the meantime, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces met here earlier in the day with Korean Defence Minister Yoon Kwang-Ung.

The meeting discussed cooperation between the two countries, particularly in defence and military matters, as well as the progress of Korean defence industry.

Afterwards, Sheikh Mohammed met with Chung Se-kyun, Minister of Industry and Energy.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the progress made by Korea in industrial and advanced technology fields.

The Korean Minister expressed his country's interest in the developments witnessed in the industrial, energy and business sectors in the UAE and the efforts to provide a perfect environment for investors and to spur the private sector's role.

Mohammed bin Zayed receives LG, Hyundai Chiefs

Seoul (WAM)- General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received separately at his residence here June 15 Chairmen of LG and Hyundai companies.

The meetings were part of a series of meetings Sheikh Mohammed has been holding with senior government officials and business leaders in South Korea.
Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the top executives of the two Korean firms their future plans in the UAE and prospects for partnerships with the UAE private sector.

Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the UAE keenness to cooperate with industry leaders and to create a favourable environment that would attract foreign investments.

Present at both meetings were Sheikh Mohammed's accompanying delegation, besides Abdullah Mohammed Al Maena, UAE Ambassador to Korea, and Joon-jae Liee, Ambassador to the UAE.
